Cali is a city you can explore independently, but a few experiences are genuinely better with a guide: the salsa circuit, the hills above the city and the day trips into Valle del Cauca. This page covers the tours worth booking in 2026. For free or self-guided options, see our things to do in Cali guide, and for the wider city picture start at the Cali city guide.
Prices below are approximate, taken from operator and resale listings, and change by season and group size. Treat them as a planning guide as of 2026 and confirm at checkout.
1. Cali City Tour: Cristo Rey, Tertulia Museum and Downtown
The standard introduction to the city. Gran Colombia Tours runs a roughly 6-hour tour covering Cristo Rey, the Museo La Tertulia and the downtown core, with hotel pickup, a guide, car or van transport, entry fees and a fruit-market tasting included. Resale listings put it at about USD 160 per adult. Valley Adventours offers a shorter 3-hour option that mixes a drive past the main sights with a walking stretch through the historic centre, listed at a similar per-person level.
These are small-group or private formats, which is why they cost more than a Bogotá walking tour. If you only have one day in the city, this is the tour to book. We cover the same route in detail in our Cali city tour and Cristo Rey guide. Browse current departures through Cali tours on GetYourGuide.
Duration: 3 to 6 hours | Difficulty: Easy | Best time: Morning, when the air over the valley is clearest
2. Cali Salsa Night Tour
Cali calls itself the world capital of salsa, and the most useful tour for a first-timer is a guided night out. The Cali Salsa Tour is bookable through GetYourGuide and typically combines transport, a beginner lesson and visits to local venues. Expect to pay roughly COP 150,000 to 300,000 per person depending on drinks and venue entries as of 2026.
If you would rather learn properly, the schools we can confirm are Swing Latino, Son de Luz, Sabor Manicero and SalsaPura. Contact them directly for current class rates, which vary by format (group, private, multi-day). Our salsa dancing in Cali guide explains the differences, and best salsa clubs in Cali lists venues if you prefer to go independently.
Duration: 4 to 6 hours, starting early evening | Difficulty: Easy, no experience needed
3. Buga and Lago Calima Day Trip
Buga’s BasĂlica del Señor de los Milagros is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Colombia and sits about 75 km north of Cali. Lago Calima, higher in the mountains, is known for steady winds that attract kitesurfers and windsurfers. Combined full-day tours are sold by Cali operators and are the practical way to see both, since public transport to the lake is slow.
Expect approximately COP 250,000 to 450,000 per person for a group day with transport, more for private cars. Full route, timings and public-bus alternatives are in our day trips from Cali guide.
Duration: 9 to 11 hours | Difficulty: Easy
4. Farallones de Cali and Pance River
The Farallones de Cali are a mountain range and national park area southwest of the city, with cloud forest and some of the best birdwatching in the region. Access to higher zones is regulated by Parques Nacionales Naturales, so a licensed guide is the sensible choice for anything beyond the lower road-accessible areas. The Pance river zone at the southern edge of the city is the easier half-day option, popular with Caleños at weekends for swimming spots and riverside restaurants.
Guided hikes are typically priced at COP 120,000 to 250,000 per person for a half or full day as of 2026, depending on group size and route. Check the Parques Nacionales Naturales{target=“_blank”} site for current access rules before you go.
Duration: 4 to 8 hours | Difficulty: Moderate for the hiking routes
5. ZoolĂłgico de Cali
The zoo is a self-guided visit rather than a tour, but it is worth a place in any plan. The Zoológico de Cali{target=“_blank”} opens roughly 9am to 4:30pm, and adult entry is approximately COP 35,000 to 40,000 as of 2026, depending on season and nationality. Check the official site for current prices, as children’s free-entry days are announced periodically.
6. Onward to Popayán
If you are heading south, Popayán is a long day from Cali but works better as an overnight. See our Popayán guide and browse Popayán tours.
How to Choose
- One day only: the city tour (option 1).
- Two days: city tour plus the salsa night (options 1 and 2).
- Three days: add Buga and Calima or the Farallones. Our 3 days in Cali itinerary sequences these.
- Safety: Cali is manageable with ordinary precautions. Read is Cali safe before your trip, and use guided transport for late-night salsa venues.
Booking Tips
Book through a platform with free cancellation, confirm whether entry fees are included, and ask whether the guide speaks English if that matters. Hotel pickup is common for private tours but not for group departures. Carry some cash in pesos for small extras such as the fruit-market tasting and tips.
